Northeast Vision Services

Jennifer L. Weaver, O.D.

Welcome to Northeast Vision Services!  Our optometry practice was established in 1970, and has maintained a tradition of providing quality full-scope vision and eye health care to area residents.

Northeast Vision Services always welcomes new patients!  Our office is a provider for the following vision plans:

  • VSP

  • EyeMed

  • MetLife

  • Cigna

  • Anthem Blue View Vision

We also accept the following health care insurances:

  • Aetna

  • Anthem

  • CompBenefits

  • Humana

  • Medical Mutual of Ohio

  • Medicare

  • United HealthCare

  • Vision Plus

The vision plans will have two types of coverage: exam and materials.  Coverage frequency and amounts vary by plan.  We like to compare insurance coverage for materials to the function of a really nice coupon - it won't usually cover your entire cost, but it will give you an excellent discount on your total purchase price!  Also, vision insurance coverage doesn't roll over from year to year, so be sure to take advantage of the services you paid for before you reach the reset date for your plan.

Some vision plans offer you a discount on the contact lens portion of the exam (which is a separate service from the traditional vision and eye health exam).  These plans offer the option to use the materials benefit portion towards contact lenses.  However, you cannot use the materials benefit on both contact lenses and eyeglasses in the same year.  If there is a year when you need to purchase both, it is more advantageous to use your insurance benefits towards glasses.

Your insurance plan may require us to send your eyeglasses out to one of their specific labs for completion of the lenses.  Sometimes, we have the option to use our in-house lab, which allows us to control the speed and quality of the glasses we provide you.

Even if you don't have a vision insurance plan, part of your exam may still be covered.  If you have specific concerns like blur, glare, ocular discomfort, or want to check the eyes for complications from established ocular or systemic conditions, our office is able to bill your exam to your health insurance company.  We can also submit a claim to your health insurance if you come in for an office call for a red eye, foreign body, or other emergent eye problem.

If our office is not on your insurance provider list, we will be happy to provide you with an itemized fee slip to attach to your insurance forms for your reimbursement.  Please feel free to speak with our staff if you have questions regarding your insurance coverage for your exam or your glasses or contact lenses.
