Congratulations, Dr. Jozwiak!
After 42 years of private practice in optometry, my mind and body have determined that it is time to slow down. I've truly enjoyed my time with you, making new friends and serving your vision needs.
However, times have changed, and the rigors of insurance and government regulations have altered the stress level. Being a perfectionist, I'm sure I've stressed a few of you also, It is time for a change, so my associate Dr. Melanie J. Ballard is taking over the practice. I know I've said for years that I was going to retire, but I needed to find the right person, with the same attention to detail and concern for my patients. This is Dr. Ballard.
Dr. Ballard has been a part of the practice for over three years; and she shares my ideals and principles. She is very meticulous in her work ethic and believes the welfare of the patients come first.
Dr. Ballard grew up in Conneaut, Ohio, and moved to Westerville to attend Otterbein College, where she earned her degree in Life Science with a molecular biology concentration. She was then accepted into The Ohio State University College of Optometry, graduating with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2008. Dr. Ballard has completed a residency in Ocular Disease Management, including pre- and post-operative care management. She enjoys providing personalized full service family eye care, along with complete contact lens care and eye disease treatment. She currently lives in Delaware, Ohio with her husband and her treasured cat.
I know you will enjoy her personality and personal care. With Dr. Ballard taking over the practice, I now feel comfortable retiring. During the year-long transition, I have been practicing one day a week, and have decided that my last full day of practice will be August 7.
Thank you for your support over the past forty years. It has been a privilege serving you.
